Film Night Thursday 28th November

News Posted: 28 November 2024

Our next film night is on Thursday 28th November and we’re screening the 2024 film ‘Thelma’ (12), directed by Josh Margolin and starring June Squibb, Fred Hechinger, Richard Roundtree, Clark Gregg, Parker Posey, and Malcolm McDowell.

When 93-year-old Thelma Post gets duped by a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson, she sets out on a treacherous quest across the city to reclaim what was taken from her.

  • ‘This is a little jewel of a debut from writer-director Josh Margolin, who applies the Mission: Impossible blueprint (complete with Nick Chuba’s delightfully Schifrin-esque heist score) to the pace and wiles of the pensioner age.’ Hilary A White, Sunday Independent (Ireland).
  • ‘Squibb brings so many layers to this character: She is feisty, endearing, adorable, thoughtful and indomitable.’ Lee Zumpe, Tampa Bay Newspapers.

We very much hope you’ll come along and enjoy this well-received comedy movie with your fellow Sandleheathers and our good friends from the wider community.

Tickets will shortly be on sale at the village shop at £5, or you can buy on the door at £6.

A beer/wine/soft drinks bar, and tea and coffee will be available from 7.00 pm and the screening will commence at 7.30 pm.
